A Photo Essay on Khmer Television

I visited Cambodian Television Network (CTN) last Saturday to learn about the status of broadcast media in Cambodia. Compared to the technology that they have and the resources that are available to them its safe to say that CTN is getting “there”. What I mean by “there” is a state of modernity that can compete with other global TV networks. For now CTN has 3 studios (1 for entertainment, 1 for news, and 1 for a youth oriented program) and boasts a good array of working cameras and television equipments, unlike its counterparts who only have 1 studio per station.  However, the lack of studios affects this country so much in terms of local programming that they are now invaded by the Hallyu Wave in every possible way Korean TV can invade them.

The photos are from 2 different TV shows in Cambodia, You’re the Man which was aired by TV3 and “Khmer Classics” which is aired by CTN
